I read this book as a book club selection. I liked it, but when I talked to the rest of the book club gals, they mostly hated it. I pretty much read the entire book this weekend, so maybe it's easier to stomach if you read it all at once? I don't know. I liked it, but I'm clearly in the minority. Weighing in at almost 600 pages, I don't know how strongly I'd recommend it.
It's about a Korean-American who grew up in Queens, went to Princeton, & is trying to make her way in life & on Wall St. It's partly about what it's like to be Korean-American & partly about being in NYC in your twenties & trying to figure out what you want to do with your life. Maybe that's why I liked it, because I could somewhat identify with it. Who knows.

600 pages? I'm more into short memoirs currently!
perhaps it was my own feelings of being aimless that made it a good read - i was surprised how much everyone hated it. it wasn't a whirlwind of a good time but i enjoyed reading it.
