Birchbox Review: June

I was pretty pleased when I received last month's Birchbox, opened it & saw all the Davines products, especially that big bottle of shampoo.  Here's what I got!

Birchbox + Color Club
Wanderlust Collection | Full-size, $8
Exclusive neon pastel shades inspired by four of our favorite cities.

My Review:  The color I got is Mod In Manhattan.  I haven't used it yet, but it looks like a pale, pinky-white.  Good neutral color.  I'll use it soon, probably with a gold glitter topcoat.  Like you do.

Davines
Love Smoothing Shampoo | Full-size, $24
A gentle shampoo packed with moisturizing Indian fig extract & olive oil.

My Review:  I really like this shampoo.  The sample size was pretty big & lasted awhile.  The smell was amazing & my hair did feel super soft.  Not sure if I'll add it to my repertoire, but I did like it.

Oscar de l Renta
Something Blue | Full-size, $85-$115
The brand's latest scent, a lovely blend of mandarin & linden blossoms.

My Review:  No.

suki
Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser | Full-size, $32.95
Two-in-one cleanser & exfoliator that magically lathers & smells deliciously lemony.

My Review:  I didn't like this at all.  The smell was too strong.  It smelled like a cleaning agent & it did not lather or foam.  It was too harsh for my sensitive skin.  I used the rest of the sample on my feet - ha!

BEAUTY EXTRAS

Davines
Love Smoothing Conditioner | Full-size, $27.50
Rich, aromatic conditioner formulated with nourishing borage seed oil.

My Review:  This sample was small & hard to use, but I liked it.  It smelled good.  I'm sure it's great, but a larger sample would have been helpful.

Davines
Oi/Oil Absolute Beautifying Potion | Full-size, $40
An antioxidant-packed potion to instantly tame frizz & strengthen hair over time.

My Review:  I haven't used this yet because I'm not 100% sure if it's for wet or dry hair.  I'll use it & report back.

Hello! I bought that Davine's shampoo back at Christmas from my stylist. It's great - but not worth the price and they probably put it in the box b/c they could not SELL it. Too expensive and there are better products.

PS Congrats on your nutritional/weight goals!! I am trying to do the same...so frustrating!!

Hey Jill - good to know about the shampoo. I tend to buy drugstore shampoo & conditioner & save my money for styling products.

Thanks! It's been a long road. I'm at a good point now where I'm continuously losing, but I dread the inevitable plateau...
